Why We Chose Carnelian Bay

Carnelian Bay is among the most convenient places on the lake, whether you fly into Reno (1 hour 15 minutes) or drive up from San Francisco (3 hours 30 minutes). The house is in a quiet location away from the busy, noisy highway around the lake; the neighborhood streets and the adjacent forest trails are perfect for walkers.  When you're ready to go out for dinner or cocktails, there are many fine choices nearby. Grocery stores and other shops are ten minutes away. Before purchasing this home we vacationed at Tahoe for years, staying at the Tahoe Keys in South Lake Tahoe, Incline Village in Nevada, Alpine Valley on the Truckee River, and Homewood on the West Shore.  We have favorite places all around the lake, but on the whole we found the South Lake to be a bit too commercial and the West Shore a bit too far from town for our tastes.  This just feels best.

 Pets are part of the family

Our dog loves to vacation with us, and we welcome your dog, too.   Dogs must be kept downstairs, and are not permitted in bedrooms or on furniture.   We clean the carpets after each of our canine guests.
